Lima, Peru

We had a wonderful time in Lima. It was such a busy place but so inviting at the same time! We really enjoyed the area we stayed at. We had a little issue with the taxi from the airport... The taxi told us "40" when we asked how much. So assuming he was referring to soles we said yes. However when we got there he said no he was actually referring to dollars. Well Landon stood his ground and after 6 cop cars showed up the taxi man finally agreed to a compromise. It was frustrating but good experience too!

This car was loaded down with cement and just barely enough room for the guy in the back haha

One of the friends (Alamiro) and his brother at their apartment. Alamiro gave us a ride to gospel meeting.

Going to see downtown Lima and the presidents house. It was all closed because of miners protesting.

We walked out to the beach which was close to our hotel to see the sunset and Park of Love

This was the weekend we were celebrating our 5 year anniversary!

Some guys slacklining

Fun little parks in the middle of two busy roads - and a guy reading the paper, so cool!

We went to see some more ruins of Pre-Inca times. They were made with mud/clay bricks

Well the city sure built up around these ruins!

The main park close to where we were staying was a cat park! Over 100 stray cats live in this park. It is so funny because almost every person sitting in the park had a cat in their lap! We were loving it!

We were walking around town trying to figure out what we were going to do and ran across a dance show! It was represented by all regions of Peru so it was really neat to see!

We had heard about this really neat water park and went to check it out. We met up with Juan, one of the friends who toured us around a bit. It was really neat to see all the different water displays and we really enjoyed the nice water show that night.

Amazing sunset!

We tried jumping through without getting wet but ended up soaked anyways!
