Time to go!

And we are off! Off on our adventure and we are so so soooo excited! We had a lot of running around seeing the friends in Costa Rica before we left so it was hard to get packed too much before we actually left. But finally got all packed and this is what we came up with. Alyssa - 36liter pack =28lbs. Landon 45liter pack=34lbs. (not stuffed to capacity)

Here is a photo of all we brought. Just to put it in perspective, most other backpackers like us (3-6 months) are packing around 60-70 lbs... We are so glad we were able to get our weight down and travel light because there is a lot of walking and it sure gets to be heavy after a while.

Here is picture of a beautiful bird that was just outside the house when we were leaving. So beautiful!

Here we are with our bags waiting for the bus to the airport!

Cinnabon :)

Ready to take off!

This is why we love flying TACA. We got served 2 dinners :) Their meals are so yummy! We had a 2 hour flight to Bogota, Columbia (btw HUGE airport!!) and then a 5-6 hour flight to Santiago, Chile. There was a big time change so we were pretty exhausted when we arrived. We found a hostel and just crashed. Luckily the sun stays up long so we still had time to go check out the town.

The flight to Santiago was a huge plane!

This is the Metro train system in Santiago. Chile has a lot of train systems so it makes travelling fun!

When you need a cane... just use a rake, I mean, why not!??

There are tons of murals/graffiti all over Santiago, seems to be a big thing here in Chile.

At the Hostel with our first load of laundry done :)

We went to a zoo that was close to the viewpoint we were going to hard to beat since it was only $6 for both of us!

This is San Cristobal where you can ride a tram up to see a better view of the city.

This is what it looks like from the other side of town.

The tram was super steep!

Nice view of Santiago!

Love this door!

Virgin Mary at the top of San Cristobal

Museo de Derechos Humanos

Pond at the local park the kids were swimming in. A little green for me though...

Apples in the park! Such a beautiful day :)

The mall in Santiago. Pretty big! Landon decided to downsize his computer and also becuase it was actin a little funny so we headed here to find a new one. Good thing there were some Christmas deals going on. We purchased the new one and sold the old one to someone at the hostel and were on our way again (all this in less than 24 hours) Crazy!

Central Station in Santiago to catch all the trains and buses.

On the Metro Tren to the next town. So long Santiago!

Vineyard Country

Cheese Empanadas and Sopapillas for lunch yum! Chilean peso is about 500 to $1
