Penguin Refuge

We took a ferry over to the Penguin island and had an hour to walk around and see the penguins before heading back. The island has thousands of penguins. It is so adorable because they are family units. They pick a mate for life and they have their homes with their 2 babies. The babies have fuzzy fur they lose once they get older. So fun to see the babies even though they aren't really little.

The island the penguins have made their home.

Looks like they are dancing :)

This is so funny! Looks like he's telling a story and everyone is listening

Cute little fuzzy baby, we wanted to touch them they look so soft!

Sweet little family

Well hi there

Magellen Penguins

Hey, could I borrow some sugar? :)

Losing those baby feathers

They call this area the Chilean Antarctica, we believe them, its freezing here!

Looking out over the other penguins

Big Bus ride!

After convention we went to Osorno for the New Years. We had a nice little meeting there on Wednesday and then got on a bus for 28 hours to Punta Arenas. It actually went faster then we were expecting. We really enjoyed the country along the way, so many lakes and beautiful mountains.

28 hours - bring it!

They even fed us a few meals on the bus!

Border crossing in Argentina

Beautiful Andes mountains

In Argentina, the terrain changed to flat plains and desert

Llamas

3D looking sidewalk - made it feel like we would fall when we were walking on it

Really cold here, we had to go buy some new waterproof shoes and gloves/beanies. Brrr! Also getting ready for hiking the W at Torres del Paine next week

Villarica, Chile

We had such a wonderful time travelling with this family and getting to know them! We enjoyed nice days at convention too where Heral was baptized!

These super clear waters are stunning! Laguna Azul

This waterfall was called Ojos del Caburgua

We drove to see a hot spring and it was quite a nice resort! We didn't have time to get in :(

This is Lake Villarica

Lots of mural graffiti here, some are pretty interesting. There are juice packets that they sell here that actually encourage kids to make a mural if they are going to graffiti. Their idea is if you are going to graffiti at least make it nice. Kind of blew us away that they are ok with it!!

Aww, matching with our purple :)

Osorno, New Years 2014

We spent New Years in Osorno because there were no buses to the next town because of the holiday. It worked out because we were able to rest a little. This town is really cute with lots of fruits and veggies!

Yay! Finally in Patagonia region!

Saying goodbye to this family as they head to Puerto Montt. We had so much fun travelling with them and are glad for new friends!

Our New Years celebration at the park :)

Hmm.. Lime Green toilet paper? That's the first time we have seen that! haha

The softest little dog ever! We were in this home on Wednesday for meeting and were invited to stay over for a New Years dinner :)

Sweet Betty in her red kitchen :)
