Quick Review: August-October 2014

Bananas, bananas, bananas! There are so many bananas here on the farm and we are lucky enough to get to enjoy them! These are the sweetest bananas ever and super yellow!

A Costa Rican Sunset from our front yard :)

Everyone from Sunday morning meeting waiting at the bus stop to head to San Jose, such a fun group of people!

The blizzard man! He makes me happy :)

Palms and Sunsets, can't get any better than that!

Landon in line for bus tickets to Chilamate

Oh yes, we've had our fair share of really crowded buses and this isn't even bad!

A visit to the Yuca farm in Chilamate!

The Yuca is a root similar to the potato that the locals eat a lot of. Eric has lots of experience!

Yuca Trees

Eric riding the moto out to his house. Nice to have a moto since otherwise it's a 2 mile walk!

The bridge we want to jump off someday. I've been a little nervous since Eric said they have seen a croc in there recently!

Doña Beatrice made these yummy corn tamales from the corn they grow on the farm!

There were 2 new little puppies when we visited the Gonzales' this time! So sweet!

Don Simeon with his gun.

New handmade stock model ;)

Mamon Chinos almost ready for harvest! The trees were so full! This is our favorite fruit here in Costa Rica. Also known as Rambutan.

Last family picture before Thanksgiving.

Landon went fishing with the guys and got to watch them toss their nets. Not to mention this is the same crocodile pond where about 15 crocodiles live. Ack!

Perfect Toss!

Oh yeah, and watch your step for the poison dart frogs!

When we first moved to CR we were not huge fans of Papaya. Now we LOVE it and it is always on our grocery list! Yummy! I love the star design when you cut it open!

Landon ran in a night time race with one of his friends here in Grecia. It was a 9.5km race and lots of hills! They did a great job and had lots of fun training the few weeks prior to the race as well!

Before the race, feeling pumped!

Tired, hot, and sweaty!

Landon made us a hammock holder so we can have a hammock on our front porch! Love it!

Hard day at work.

We had a surprise visitor who came to see us. She was crying all day outside and at night she came up to our door. When I opened it, she came right inside like she owned the place. We gave her a little food and now she has been here ever since. We call her Ria.

BIG changes for us and our lifestyle in Costa Rica. After a year of riding buses we decided to take the jump and buy a car. It's no fun buying a used car here because of the import taxes original owners have to pay, they charge a lot for a used car. But we are hopeful that it won't lose value too fast and we can sell it again later. Here we are at the lawyers office signing papers and exchanging money.

Our very first Central American plates!

Blue RAV-4 4x4  -perfect for off roading!
