Quick Review - June-August 2014

When we got home to Costa Rica, the workers had left us a few beautiful flower arrangements and a sweet note! It was nice to be "home"! We were so used to going fast in our South America trip and then to the States that it felt weird to be home and not have a next destination!

The church in Grecia. It's huge and legend has it that it was intended for Greece which in Spanish is Greica so it was accidentally sent to Grecia, Costa Rica instead!

The main park in Grecia.

Every McDonalds has their own sidewalk ice cream shop. It's so adorable!

During the World Cup Costa Rica was on a running streak. We went to Grecia to watch the game at a local coffee shop. It was amazing how excited the people were!

Everyone was celebrating and driving around the park honking!

My name brand store!

We met up with a few friends from Wisconsin before they left for home. It was so special to get to meet them and visit a bit! Nothing like a bit of fellowship from the States!

One Sunday we were heading home from meeting and Costa Rica had just won another game! The traffic was so terrible we had to get off the bus and walk a few miles before we could get on again! Everyone was celebrating! It was an experience we will never forget!

Bang your pots and pans!

Costa Rica Pride!

For the 4th of July we went to an American celebration in San Jose. There were a lot of Americans there and it was free popcorn, hotdogs, and cotton candy all day! We had lots of fun and enjoyed meeting some other Americans who live in Costa Rica!

Brenda had her brother and sister-in-law visit for a week in Costa Rica from Guatemala. They were here at the house for a few nights and we really enjoyed getting to know them! We played the safety pin-rice game! It was a hit!

All the kids had a vacation so we invited a few to come stay with us for a few days during their week off school. Angie and Siany were the only ones who could make it but we had a blast!

We invited the neighborhood boys over for a few fun activities!

We made colored ice!

And of course played the rice game :)

All the kids built a rocket and we showed them the bottle rocket experiment with baking soda and vinegar. They loved it!

We had a fun time swimming down in the river on the coffee farm!

Siany loved helping me cook in the kitchen

We made a letter for Annika and mailed it to her house all the way to California!
