Perrito Moreno Glacier - Landon's Birthday

For Landon's Birthday, we were in El Calafate in Southern Argentina to see the Glacier Perrito Moreno. It was so incredible, partly because we could get so close, so picture overload but oh well! It was a little rainy so we were kind of bummed because it's hard to get good glacier pictures without sun but turned out good in the end! This glacier is 70ft tall and is one of the few that is continuing to grow. They say it is 30km deep.

We took a boat ride that takes you right up to the face of the glacier!

Iceberg calving off

So dark and stormy :(

Amazing electric blue!

Birthday Jello! Happy Birthday Landon!

Adorable little baby on mom's back :)

Well that's one way to transport re-bar... he was taking the corners super fast and they were just wacking into the side rails haha we were cracking up!

28 hour bus ride to Bariloche, not too much to see besides an occasional llama..

Lots of leg room :) Pretty cozy!

We were so happy for dinner, starved! These meals are nothing but carbs. ugh.

Patagonia Trek Day 4 & 5

This part of the hike (from campground Cuernos to the Torres) was supposed to be the longest day hiking but the weather was so great that we made it in 5 hours instead of the estimated 8 but we covered a lot of ground and it was so beautiful to watch the countryside change!

Got a warm shower at campsite Cuernos! Good thing because we had a big hike in front of us in the morning!

Lakefront campsite :)

We finally picked a place to put our "love lock". We locked it up and Landon kicked the keys off the cliff. "Forever in love"

Almost 5 years of marriage :) *Love*

Lock up our love and throw the keys away :)

The most peaceful morning hike with gorgeous weather!

Small Avalanche

The fields of flowers, I just wanted to run through them! SOO pretty!

Fun trail!

This was a teaser campsite (paid) we kept going to another campsite that was free but also another 2km straight uphill. I was really coming up with some awesome things we could buy with the money we saved from not staying at the paid campsite haha

Finally ran into the sign, since we did the trip backwards it was funny to the sign like we just got there!

The famous Torres Del Paine!

Landon hiked up the first day we got there while I rested and then we got up at 3:30am the next morning to try and see the Towers with sunrise. It was so cold and rainy and I was being a little grumpy... So we were waiting for the sun to come out behind a huge rock to shield from the wind and this coyote came right up to us. We think it was his shelter we were using. He was huge! So fun to see wildlife!

You can tell I am just thrilled to be there. It was too early and the sun never came out :( I left and Landon waited it out some but still not much luck.

He found a geocache while he was waiting :)

The little sun that did peek out

Hiking out! Finally on the last stretch!

Made it to the hotel!! Horray!

What a trip of a lifetime! We are sore and tired but are so glad we took the time to see some of the best works in nature!

Good ole' duct tape! Keeps the band-aids on :)
